Diablo conference has been a blast: many news and features that will impact the gameplay for sure and that cos Jay Wilson is the type of guy that is always finding a way to improve what is already amazing, and he does this for a reason... balancing Diablo 3 will be of an Infernal difficoulty.
So what about of this new level of challenge?
Each level of difficolty in Diablo 3 will affect not only the direct stats of the enemies but will transform the gameplay experience on a very profound level.
Monster will display a strongly different behaviour (read aggro) and gameplay (read skills and powers) but that is not the main course...
Items will be served in tiers based on the level of difficolty and that means that the "wonderful set you were looking for" will be droppable only in the appropriate level of challenge.
Level cap is also an issue: Diablo 3 lev cap is 60 and on Infernal enemies will be 61: no easy candy, expecially if you think that Diablo 2 and game sported a level 85 enemy cap confronted with a 99 lev cap of the players.
Last notes: today I've played the game for 1 hour... (miracles of the Activision VIP pass) and it is more marvelous then ever.
I think that Jay should relax a bit. He got his game, and we will loose hours of sleep.
Enjoy my crappy gallery! 8)
